December 2, 9, 15, 16, 18 & 21-23, 2011, at the Egyptian and Aero Theatres
For this year’s Holiday Spirit program, we’re unveiling a few brand new restorations of festive classics, screening in beautiful digital presentations! At the Egyptian, see IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, BEN-HUR and Michael Curtiz’ WHITE CHRISTMAS in pristine, spectacular glory like you’ve never seen them before!
The annual Outfest co-presentation of cult classic AUNTIE MAME starring Rosalind Russell as a bohemian socialite raising her nephew, plus a double feature of action holiday classics DIE HARD and DIE HARD 2, also screen at the Egyptian. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE will again screen at the Aero (this time in 35mm), along with the unrated version of BAD SANTA, the hilarious update of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” starring Bill Murray, SCROOGED, Laurel and Hardy silent delight BABES IN TOYLAND and a double feature of Robert Siodmak’s yuletide noir CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY and Bill Forsyth’s ice cream truck turf war comedy COMFORT AND JOY.
Series compiled by Grant Moninger and Gwen Deglise. Program note additions by Beth Hanna.
