L.A. LEAGUE OF ARTS BURNING MAN FILM SERIES
Co-Presented with The Los Angeles League of Arts

Born from the San Francisco underground scene in the 1980s, the Burning Man festival, situated in Nevada’s barren Black Rock Desert, has been a counter-cultural landmark in the United States for almost 30 years. Originally conceived as a participant-governed, anti-establishment experiment in community and self-reliance, the festival has managed to uphold some of its original ideals, despite its metamorphosis into a multimillion dollar industry.

Join us for the L.A. League of Arts (LALA) Burning Man Film Series, screening one Sunday a month, featuring works that shed light on the week long festival. The series kicks off on March 6th, the “burnal” equinox, with the film DUST AND ILLUSIONS, which explores the history of the festival, at 7:30 PM, with a discussion following with director Olivier Bonin and other special guests. Starting at 1:00 PM in the Egyptian courtyard, there will be a complete afternoon full of Burning Man activities for all ages.
