Autism Spectrum Disorder affects as many as 1.9% of college students; for those who are capable of the academic work, getting in is easy enough - but navigating college on the spectrum can be challenging in many ways. From deciding which school will be the best fit, to interactions with professors and peers, facing roommate situations, handling money, homesickness, finding work, overcoming setbacks and staying on track to graduate, these students come up against all the aspects of college life students typically encounter. This documentary follows five students on the autism spectrum who take us on campus and into their lives to see how they’re doing at college. Packed with insights for student, parents and educators, AUTISM GOES TO COLLEGE offers a first look at what a growing number of neurodiverse students are bringing to campus.
