THE VELVET UNDERGROUND TAROT CARDS
1966, MoMA, 65 min, USA, Dir: Andy Warhol

What costume shall the poor girl wear? At tonight’s party, members of the Velvet Underground and Nico amuse themselves by taking turns with a tarot card reader (who is continually interrupted by the chaos of the festivities). Shot with the kinetic zooming and panning seen in Warhol’s SYMPHONY OF SOUND, this film was created to project during the Velvets’ Exploding Plastic Inevitable performances.
