FULL METAL JACKET
1987, Warner Bros. , 116 min, Dir: Stanley Kubrick

A superb ensemble fall in for Stanley Kubrick’s brilliant saga about the Vietnam war and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers. Joker (Matthew Modine), Animal Mother (Adam Baldwin), Gomer (Vincent D’Onofrio), Cowboy (Arliss Howard) and others experience bootcamp hell pitbulled by a leatherlung D.I (R. Lee Ermey), who views would-be devil-dogs as grunts, maggots or something even worse. The action is savage, the story unsparing and the dialogue spiked with scathing humor from basic training to Hue City combat nightmare.
