FANTASTIC MR. FOX

Director Wes Anderson's first animated film is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book. Mr. and Mrs. Fox (voiced by George Clooney and Meryl Streep) live an idyllic home life with son Ash (Jason Schwartzman), but the bucolic existence proves too much for Mr. Fox. When he slips back into his old ways as a sneaky chicken thief, he ends up endangering the whole animal community.

This live-action reimagining of the 1967 animated favorite uses state-of-the-art digital imagery to bring an entire Indian jungle to a Los Angeles soundstage. Newcomer Neel Sethi stars as Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, who is threatened by Bengal tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) and must journey into the world. An all-star cast, including Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken supplies the voices of the creatures Mowgli meets along the way.

Bill Murray turns in a transformative performance as Hunter S. Thompson in this one-of-a-kind biopic that draws from several of Thompson’s writings to tell the story of his outrageous friendship with lawyer and activist Oscar Zeta Acosta (called Carl Lazlo in the film and played by Peter Boyle). With music by Neil Young.
